Fermented with the inclusion of 25% whole bunches and 3% Viognier. Maturation taking place in French oak hogsheads for 15 months. Midnight black at its core with a bright dark red black tinged hue. Elevated black cherry and liquorice aromas mix with lightly toasted vanillin cedar, dried meats and peppered herb notes. Medium bodied the palate is awash with juicy blackpepper infused blackberry, liquorice and blueberry fruits which are trailed by some meaty characters and spice. Dry, slightly inky finish with sturdily constructed tannins leading into a robust yet succulent aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 13%

Other Reviews….
A blend of shiraz from Trawalla (near the Pyrenees) and the Pyrenees areas. Red fruits, blue fruits, high, lifted spice, bitter chocolate, dried herbs. A firm, young shiraz - syrah - that fairly bounces with approachability right now. Chocolate-covered plums, sage, spice, potpourri with just a hint of garden mint, spearmint, thyme. It's all there in the glass, balanced and ready to go, but patience will be further rewarded. Drink by 2027.
