Merricks Estate was one of the first commercial vineyards on the Mornington Peninsula being planted in 1978. Their Thompson’s Lane label is designed to be drunk earlier than their Estate range with an emphasis on delivering great value.
Semi translucent dark red core with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Alluring and highly fragrant aromatics of violets, dark cherries, ripe strawberries and anise flood the olfactory senses with some tail notes of forest floor and spice. Showing superb richness and power, moreish ripe cherry and strawberry fruits carry a supple texture across the light to medium weighted palate. Anise, a subtle meatiness and spicy cedar ensue. Very smooth, velvet like tannins with a long irresistibly silky finish.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 13.7%
