2019 McHenry Hohnen BDX Malbec Cabernet Petit Verdot

A blend of 50% Malbec, 46% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot matured in French oak barriques for 15 months. Inky black heart with a very deep bright dark red black tinged hue. Filling the nostrils are aromatics of red to black currant and mulberry fruits which combine with black olive, dusty cedar, tobacco and bay leaf notes. Medium bodied and quite classy the palate none the less possesses a rich yet refined flavour profile of red to black currant and mulberry fruit which melds into cedary tobacco characters, subtle earthy black olive and spicy bay leaf infusions. Well integrated, finely structured tannins with a long elegant aftertaste.
