2019 M.Chapoutier Bila-Haut Cotes du Roussillon Villages

A rich, fleshy yet well structured blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan that delivers terrific bang for your buck. Fruit is sourced from the slopes of the Agly Valley which is composed of gneiss and schist. Aged for only a few months in vats the emphasis here is on the quality of fruit.
Midnight black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Attractive blackberry, dark raspberry and liquorice aromas fill the nostrils followed by subtle scorched earth and peppered herb notes. Rich, concentrated and juicy the full bodied palate is awash with luscious black cherry, black raspberry and liquorice fruits which are complimented by scorched earth, dried meat and peppered herb characters. Opulent yet sturdy in its feel with polished tannins and a long, sumptuous aftertaste. Great Value.
