100% whole bunch fruit was utilised with maturation taking place in old oak barrels for 11 months. Dark red colour with subtle flashes of black to the edges and a dark red hue. Ripe cherry aromas intermingle with red liquorice, infusions of fresh herbs and violets. Some light spicy earth notes are also present. Spicy ripe red to dark cherry and red liquorice fruits have a juicy feel over a back drop of earth, dried herbs and spice. Finishes dry with slightly chalky tannins and bright acidity. Fresh red fruit driven aftertaste.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews….
Lyons Will is at Lancefield in the Macedon Ranges region. It’s a cool/cold landscape for certain.
We have both colour and flavour here but the finish is searing and long. This is a dart aimed at the future. Nectarine and white peach, grapefruit and citrus characters with nashi pear and florals as an afterthought. There’s a sweetness from oak but its influence is gentle at most. It’s an arresting wine. It will be beautiful in time. Drink by 2024.
