Other Reviews....
Fermentation takes place in horizontal tanks at moderate temperature for 12-15 days, before ageing in large 25hl wooden barrels for 24 months. The austere nose shows restrained dark fruits, liquorice root, straw, and red currant freshness. It shows a soft attack then firm, extracted, fine-grained tannins; muscular and chewy and evident on the gums, but polished on the finish. A powerful wine that needs time. Drink: 2024-2050.

Plenty of lavender and violet aromas with plum undertones. Medium to full body with plenty of ripe tannins and a chewy finish. Shows polish and focus. Drink after 2027.

Taking on more mineral character, the 2019 Barolo Margheria lifts with crushed rocks, white pepper, and red cherry. It has a bit more linear drive with its spine of acidity and offers notes of blood orange, grenadine, and dried roses. It is refreshing with angular tannins and has a long finish. Hold 3-5 years and drink 2026-2046.
