Located in Tanunda in the Barossa, Linke remains a 5th generation family owned producer. Their two vineyards - the "Stonewell Block" on the western side of the Barossa, and the "Dorrien" which is on the valley floor, consistently produce top notch fruit for renowned labels (including St Halletts and Langmeil). Since 2002, a portion of fruit has been reserved for the family's own label utilising vines that have an average age of 20 years old. Maturation is American oak, 90% used and 10% new.

Ultra rich and power packed, there’s nothing elegant about this brute of a wine.

Impenetrable inky black in colour with a deep dark red black hue. Lofty black plum, black cherry and liquorice scents engulf the nostrils with toasty vanillin oak and spicy pepper notes also drifting in. The rich, high-octane palate is a super concentrate of black fruits, decadent black cherry, liquorice and black plum flavours saturating the mouth. Densely textured, toasty vanillin oak, earth and pepper characters then chime in on the back half. Slightly firmer and brighter than more recent vintages it has a sturdy tannin structure that lends some grip to the long powerful finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
