2019 Kilikanoon Prodigal Grenache

First produced in 1997 Kilikanoon’s Prodigal is one of Clare Valley’s standard bearers for Old Vine Grenache. Each parcel of fruit was harvested and kept separately throughout the wine making process until final blending. Maturation took place in seasoned French oak hogsheads for a period of 15 months.

Rich and exceptionally concentrated this is one super succulent Grenache.

Dark red in colour with black shaded edges and a red to dark red hue. Alluring dark raspberry, dark cherry and liquorice allsorts aromas intoxicate the olfactory senses with confectionary, light scorched earth and pepper scents also evident. Rich and exceptionally concentrated, the palate is engulfed with luscious dark to black raspberry, liquorice and juicy dark cherry fruits. Super plush texturally and possessing a silky tannin structure, lying underneath are notions of scorched earth, confectionary and blackpepper. Magnificent power with a very long and deep conclusion that’s succulence plus.
