Sourced from Josef Chromy's estate vineyard at Relbia in Northern Tasmania, this Pinot saw 25% whole bunch inclusion and maturation in French oak barriques for 8 months. Semi translucent bright dark red colour with black tinged edges and a crimson red hue. Fragrant scents of violets, ripe red cherries and strawberries blossom out of the glass followed by forest floor, light dried herb and spicy cedar notes. Lively yet supple upon entry, the palate is layered with delicious red cherry and strawberry fruits which meld into subtle anise, forest floor, light dried herb and spicy cedar elements. Expansive it finishes fresh with polished tannins and a long engaging red fruited aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Other Reviews….
Hand-picked fruit from Northern Tasmania. 25% whole bunches; matured in French oak barriques for 8 months. Classic Tamar pinot. Blackberry and black cherry fruit with a savoury backdrop of beetroot. Nicely poised acidity finds harmony with well-composed fruit and oak tannins. Everything interlocks neatly on a long finish. Potential. Drink by 2032.
