2019 Izway Bruce Shiraz

The Bruce was the first wine Izway produced and since it’s inception in 2003 it has always been unashamedly Barossan with rich fruit, power, depth, texture and structure all hallmarks of this outstanding wine. 2019 will be a vintage for the lovers of powerful Barossa Shiraz, the lower yields delivering deep, rich colours, fine tannins and high tone aromatics. The cold nights meant that the wines have purity, freshness and great acid balance. Fruit was sourced from four different vineyards, three from Barossa Valley located in the sub districts of Koonunga Hill, Ebenezer and Greenock with the fourth vineyard situated in Moculta, Eden Valley.
Spectacular density of colour displaying an inky black heart with an equally deep black dark red hue. Potent ripe black cherry, liquorice and black plum scents intoxicate the olfactory senses with smoky vanillin cedar, fennel, dark chocolate and spice elements ensuing. Rich, thick and all decadence the palate is loaded with lush black cherry, liquorice and dark plum fruits which are underscored by smoky vanillin cedar, earthy fennel, dark chocolate and pepper characters. Voluptuously textured with a velvety yet sturdily built tannin structure it boasts magnificent power and concentration and concludes long and opulent.
