2019 Hither & Yon Tempranillo

From a vineyard established in 2010 by the Leask family, this wine saw 10% whole bunch use in the ferment with maturation taking place in 3-4 year old French hogsheads for a period of 5 months.
Deep dark purple black colour with a bright dark purple hue. Ripe black cherry and liquorice aromas waft through the nostrils complexed by earthy incense like notes, hints of new leather and spice. Plush and textural the palate is amply endowed with luscious black cherry and liquorice fruits which overlay a scorched earth, subtle dried herb and spice back drop. Finishes with a youthful freshness, polished tannins and a savoury medium to long aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

A lot of pizzazz packed into this with its cherry-accented fruit, sarsaparilla and woodsy spices. It's medium-bodied, juicy with firm tannins and a slight green edge on the finish means having this with food. Drink by 2026.
