2019 Henschke Keyneton Euphonium

Keyneton Euphonium is composed of Shiraz sourced from up to 50-year-old vines growing in the Eden and Barossa Valleys, blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot from selected vineyards in both regions. The 2019 vintage is made up of 52% Shiraz, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc and 11% Merlot matured in a mixture of 80% French and 20% American oak hogsheads of which 17% were new for a period of 18 months.
Totally opaque midnight black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Delightful spicy dark plum, blackcurrant and liquorice aromas flood the nostrils with hints of rhubarb, dried herbs and vanillin cedar also present. Silky smooth and highly delectable, the medium bodied palate is decorated with plush dark plum, liquorice and blackcurrant fruits which meld into a dark chocolate, dried herb, cedary tobacco character and vanillin spice back drop. Perfectly integrated cashmere like tannin structure concluding long, polished and seductive.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
