Inky black in colour with a deep bright dark red black hue. Showing good elevation out of the glass are dark plum, blackberry and liquorice scents which intermingle with lightly toasted vanillin oak, mocha and spice. Rich dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruits flood the mouth and show good flesh. Toasty vanillin cedar, earthy mocha and spice characters ensue. Finishes with good freshness, very polished tannins and a long spicy aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews....
From 21yo estate vines in Kalimna. Matured 18 months in (30% new) 55/45% American/French oak barrels. All the might and majesty of the great Kalimna district. Bright purple hue. A compact core of blue fruits of all kinds is brightened by a refreshing acid line and supported by a nicely constructed frame of fine tannins, serving to give poise and precision to a long finish. Long-term potential. Drink by 2034.
