$515.88 Dozen
Cellar: 2 - 3 Years (2022-2023)

Semi translucent bright red colour with subtle black tinged edges and a vibrant crimson red hue. Aromas of red raspberries and red cherries are overlaid by earth, dried herbs, light tobacco and spice. The crunchy palate has a spritzy feel with red fruits infused with earthen characters underpinned by zesty like acidity. Traces of blood orange and flinty mineral characters make an appearance on the dry finish. Slightly chalky tannins with a refreshing, tangy aftertaste that has some real zip to it.
Cellar 2-3 years. Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
“Claré JC is a unique wine, our take on the forgotten days of Nebbiolo, when it was enjoyed in its lighter and fresher garment. The winemaking protocol follows the 1606 writings of G.B. Croce, jeweler of the House of Savoia: the wine is bottled soon after the fermentation so to retain a gentle off-dry finish and a lovely energy.” I’ve tried a few vintages of this over the years, and this is the first review, which is kind of surprising, but there you go. And here you go. Importer: CellarHand

It’s juicy, popping with sweet cherry and red fruits, tickled with spritz, some new leather, spice and dried herb in the mix. Tannin plays a firm but fair game, and the finish, while slightly sweet, closes with a cranberry/pomegrante crunch, which cleans the whole affair up very nicely indeed. It’s such a delightful wine to quaff, and while it’s not exactly cheap, it does deliver. A different thing. A good thing. Drink 2020-2025.
