Made from 23 year old vines utilising 33% whole bunch fruit with maturation taking place in French oak puncheons of which 25% was new. Semi translucent bright red colour with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Attractive violet, red cherry and winter strawberry scents show good lift with notions of forest floor, meaty notes and spicy cedar also chiming in. Possessing the varietals classic trait of power without weight, the palate is flooded with delicious ripe cherry and strawberry fruits. Expansive and supple in it’s feel the back half picks up elements of forest floor, dried herbs and spicy cedar. Silky tannins are complimented by fresh acidity. Concludes long and savoury.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
An ethereal, pretty pinot, with a heady fragrance of red roses, raspberries and woodsy spices. It's lighter framed, with a fineness to its tannins, crunchy acidity and a succulence that makes you return for another sip. Drink by 2027.
