2019 Elderton Ode to Lorraine Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Merlot

A blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Shiraz and 7% Merlot from vines aged between 15-75 years old. Ageing took place in French oak puncheons of which 15% were new for a period of 24 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Spicy plum, red currant and red liquorice aromas emerge from the glass trailed by vanillin cedar, light earth, tobacco and dried herb notes. Rich, plush and nicely concentrated the palate is engulfed with succulent dark plum, liquorice and blackcurrant fruits. Silky smooth tannins with vanillin cedar, light tobacco and spicy dried herb elements lying underneath. Finishes long, perfectly ripe and velvety.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
