2019 Elderton Neil Ashmead Grand Tourer Shiraz
Sourced from vines aged between 30-39 years old with maturation taking place in French oak puncheons and hogsheads (40% new) for a period of 21 months. Inky black heart with a deep dark red black shaded hue. Pronounced blackberry, dark plum and liquorice aromas intermix with subtlety toasted vanillin oak and peppered earth like notes. Rich and velvety with medium to full body weight, the palate has an expressive flavour profile of dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruits over smoky vanillin cedar, scorched earth and peppered dried herbs. Silky tannin structure with a long plush aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
