Other Reviews....
This too is quite aromatically cool and even more elegant with its spicier array of red currant and discreet newly turned earth scents. The understated and equally refined medium weight flavors don't possess the same power, yet the almost delicate mouthfeel is highly appealing, all wrapped in a youthfully austere and markedly stony finale. Like the Feusselottes, this is textbook ESJ. Drink 2031+.

Opening in the glass with scents of cherries, cassis and blackberries complemented by hints of forest floor and raw cocoa, the 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Estournelles Saint-Jacques (Domaine Louis Jadot) is medium-bodied, bright and fine-boned, underpinned by lively acids and displaying a delicate, elegant profile. This is shaping up very nicely.

William Kelley - Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)

The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Estournelles Saint-Jacques 1er Cru has an arresting and very vanilla-y bouquet that is showing too much new oak at the moment. This is very high-toned, with orange blossom and bunches of violets rendering it Vosne-like in style. The palate is by far the sweetest and feels ostentatious in style, at the expense of terroir expression when juxtaposed against the Lavaux Saint-Jacques. Long and candied on the finish. I hope this will become more toned down with bottle age. Drink 2023 - 2038.
