2019 Domaine Louis Boillot Chambolle-Musigny
Other Reviews....
Firm reduction renders the nose impossible to assess. While there is good energy and detail to the middle weight flavors, the clipped and short finish is rendered equally tough to read by the abundant gas. I suspect that this will be fine once it's cleaned up, but my projected range is necessarily somewhat provisional. Drink from 2026+.

Pretty and perfumed, the 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Village opens in the glass with notes of cherries, raspberries, rose petals and spices, framed by a deft touch of new oak. Medium to full-bodied, layered and velvety, with a lively core of fruit and refined tannins, it concludes with a long, floral finish. As I've written before, this bottling is largely derived from the lieu-dit Beaux Bruns, part of which is only entitled to the communal appellation—supplemented by some fruit from lieu-dit Derrière la Four. Drink 2025 - 2045.

William Kelley - Wine Advocate (Jan 2022)
The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Village comes from two parcels, 80% from Beaux Bruns and 20% from Derrière La Forge. The first barrel selected showed some reduction. The second was much better, offering well-defined brambly red fruit intermixed with light earthy aromas. The palate is ripe and quite candied on the entry, with vanilla-tinged red fruit, a slightly confit style, and a sweet, candied, lightly spiced finish. Not profound, but quite seductive. Drink 2022-2032.

Neal Martin - Vinous
Made from 75% Beaux Bruns and 25% Derrière le Four, purchased in 2005 and 2009 respectively. Intense purple with a reductive nose. Quite heavy at the moment with dark fruit, and a lot of oak.
