2019 Domaine Les Aphillanthes 3 Cepages Cotes du Rhone Villages

Domaine Les Aphillanthes is comprised of 30 hectares and located near Gigondas in the Rhone Valley. Farmed organically and Biodynamically, proprietors Daniel and Hélène Boulle maintain a high commitment to quality, keeping only the finest 80% of grapes for their own use and selling the rest off.
An equal parts blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. Black as night at its heart with a bright dark red black tinged hue. Springing out of the glass is an intense mixture of black raspberry and black cherry fruits followed by liquorice, herbs du Provence, scorched earth and peppered meat notes. Rich black raspberry, liquorice and dark to black cherry fruits have a fresh feel due to an underpinning of vibrant acidity. Notions of scorched earth, herbs du Provence, dried meats and pepper ensue. Ripe, slightly chewy tannins provide good structure. Amply fleshed it finishes long and seductive.
