At present this isn't quite as fresh as the Gruenchers though it's otherwise aromatically similar. By contrast, there is even better energy to the beautifully delineated flavors that flash more evident minerality on the wonderfully complex and lingering finish. As is usually the case, the mid-palate isn't quite as dense, but it compensates by being finer and more sophisticated plus the supporting tannins are a bit firmer. This too is really lovely juice. Drink 2031+.

Allen Meadows - Burghound

Perfect fresh mid purple colour with a bouquet to match. The petit Vougeot has kept its balance better than the Gruenchers. Even so this is headily ripe fruit. There is some black cherry mixed in with fresher red fruit notes, a little bit of fresh peach, some mandarin peel. Plenty going on as sweetness fights with savoury, However I really like the overall balance.
