2019 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin Cherbaudes Vieille Vigne Premier Cru
Other Reviews....
A discreet application of wood frames attractively layered and ripe aromas of black raspberry, cherry and subtle warm earth whiffs. As would be reasonably expected, the mouthfeel of the middle weight flavors is more powerful if less refined while delivering excellent length on the balanced finale. This beauty is an exercise in focused harmony and balance. Drink 2029+.

Another success, the 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes offers up aromas of plums, cherries and sweet soil tones, complemented by hints of peonies and wintergreen. Medium to full-bodied, bright and lively, with a tightly wound core of fruit and elegantly chalky tannins, this is promising.

Dense dark purple, the bouquet accentuates the savoury in a dark but not too sweet raspberry, which becomes more floral in the glass. There’s a lovely energy and now a little bit of sweetness too, but retains the savoury red fruit element. Interesting, complex wine.
