2019 Domaine de L’Espigouette Bel Air Cotes du Rhone

Based in Sablet, Domaine de l'Espigouette has been in the hands of the Latour family for four generations. Now run by Bernard Latour and sons, Latour’s grandfather was one of the first to plant Syrah in Vacqueyras in the 1960’s.
Pitch black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Nosing offers up a mix of black raspberry and liquorice aromas infused with Provincial herbs, pepper and graphite like notes. Rich, plump black raspberry and liquorice fruits fill the mouth underscored by scorched earth, provincial herb and peppered meat elements. Chewy tannins provide a muscular feel. Excellent concentration and depth with a long deeply fruited yet robust finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
