2019 Craigie Knowe Estate Pinot Noir

Located on the Freycinet coast of Tasmania, Craigie Knowe Vineyard was first planted in 1979 by then Hobart dentist John Austwick. Matured for 10 months in French oak barriques, 25% of which were new. Deep dark red core with black shaded edges and a dark red hue. Stirring aromas of ripe dark cherries, strawberries and anise fill the nostrils followed by dried herb, earthy forest floor and spicy cedar notes. The rich, mid weighted palate is flooded with generous dark cherry, ripe strawberry and subtle anise flavours which are expansive and supple in their feel. Silky smooth tannins with dried herb, forest floor and spicy cedar elements adding complexity to the back half. Concludes long and ripe yet also retains a sense of freshness.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
