Aged in French oak hogsheads. Impenetrable inky black colour with a deep dark red black hue. Intense liquorice, dark plum and blackberry scents sail out of the glass trailed by subtlety smoked vanillin cedar, hints of earthy fennel and blackpepper. Medium to full in body, rich plump blackberry, dark plum and liquorice fruits are backed by fresh acidity and robust yet relatively fine grained tannins. Elements of smoky vanillin cedar and peppered earth ensue. Refined, bright medium length conclusion.
