2019 Cooter & Cooter Shiraz

Cooter & Cooter is a family business established in 2012 but has a generation of winemakers spanning back to 1847. The vineyard at Whites Valley near Willunga in McLaren Vale features Grenache vines planted in the 1950s, along with Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in 1996.
Matured in 4 year old French oak for 8 months with 12% whole bunch fruit included. Dense inky black colour with a dark red black tinged hue. Liquorice, blackberry and dark plum aromas leap from the glass followed by vanillin cedar, fennel and peppered dried herb notes. Rich liquorice, dark plum and blackberry fruits are both fresh and succulent with vanillin cedar and fennel elements lying underneath. Excellent weight and depth with a fleshy texture and velvet smooth tannins. Concludes long, juicy and peppery.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
