2019 Coates The Reserve Chardonnay

Barrel fermented in 70% new French oak barriques. Bright pale straw to straw colour with a touch of green around the edges and a watery hue. Intense ripe peach, dried honey and crème brulee like scents drift from the glass trailed by subtle butterscotch finger, toasty oak and spicy nougat notes. Rich and creamy the full bodied palate boasts superb concentration with luscious peach and honeyed nectarine like flavours overlaying subtle notions of crème brulee, light bacon fat, nougat and spice. Finishes with a citrusy freshness on the long rich and textured aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
