Matured in second and third use French oak barriques for 15 months. Black as night heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Attractive dark cherry, liquorice and ripe blueberry scents sail out of the glass followed by subtle fresh herb and scorched earth notes. Juicy dark cherry, plum and blueberry flavours are supported by a sturdy tannin structure. Notions of dried herbs and spicy earth make an appearance on the back half.
Bright finish with a slightly chewy but ripe aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Matured in second and third use French oak barriques for 15 months. Inky black colour with a deep bright dark red black hue. Nosing offers up dark cherry and blueberry aromatics followed by hints of red liquorice, earth and fresh herbs. Juicy dark cherry, blueberry and liquorice fruits fill the medium bodied palate overlaying a back drop of earth and spicy dried herbs. Dry inky finish with firmish tannins, bright acidity and a medium length aftertaste.

Other Reviews….
Fruit from Celestial Bay vineyard in Wilyabrup. Matured in French oak barriques for 15 months. The palate is saturated and dense, although there remains space between the flavours for thought. Quite something. The vineyard is in a slightly cooler spot, perhaps the reason for the refreshing acidity that courses its way through the palate. Red berries, salted tomato and red apple skins to boot – this is spicy and lovely.
