The Chateau Pegau releases come from an estate located just across the southern border of Chateauneuf du Pape, located along the eastern bank of the Rhone River. The wines are made by Laurence Feraud and they’ve recently completed work on a new cellar at the estate. This brilliant, fresh rosé leans towards the richer end of the spectrum, and is produced from 70% Cinsault, 20% Grenache, and 10% Carignan.

Vivid salmon pink colour with a watery hue. Leaping out of the glass are pronounced aromatics of peach and blood orange followed by some citrus and stony notes. Zesty peach, melon and blood orange fruits are well rounded and show good intensity but fall a touch short on the finish where some stony, citrus like elements take over. Dry tangy aftertaste.

Other Reviews....
The latest edition of Laurence Feraud's Pink Pegau, the 2019 Vin de France Rose offers up gently herbal notions of raspberries and alpine strawberries, white peaches and hints of citrus and white chocolate. It's a medium to full-bodied rosé, with enough punch to partner grilled meats, yet still refreshing enough to be served on its own.
