2019 Chateau Fontareche Vieilles Vignes

A medium bodied blend of 40% Carignan, 30% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre and 10% Grenache. Pitch black in colour with a bright dark purple hue. Lifted ripe dark cherry and raspberry aromas are married to liquorice and blueberry with subtle inky earth and dried herb notes also chiming in. Rich juicy dark cherry, liquorice and blueberry fruits are underpinned by inky earth, graphite, dried herbs and spice. Finishes dry with slightly chalky tannins and bright fresh acidity. Concludes with a medium to long aftertaste that’s quite savoury.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
