2019 By Farr GC Cote Vineyard Chardonnay

GC is Nick Farr’s tribute to his father Gary and what he has achieved in the Geelong region and also what he has contributed to Australian Chardonnay and Pinot Noir over a 40 year career. The wine is matured in French oak, 35% new, for approximately 10 months.

Now firmly entrenched as one of Australia’s best Chardonnay’s, it possesses all the traits of Grand Cru Burgundy but at a fraction of the price.

Brilliant pale straw colour with flecks of green around the edges and a watery hue. Soaring out of the glass is a complex aromatic profile comprised of white peaches, ripe nectarines, dried honey, cashew and a whiff of bees wax. Adding further depth are biscuity nougat characters, a faint hint of crème brulee and spice. Intense and powerful, the multi layered palate features rich, fleshy white peach, ripe nectarine and dried honey flavours over a back drop of cashew, biscuity nougat characters, citrus, subtle crème brulee and ginger spice. A beautiful, refined creamy like textural feel is complimented by a perfectly balanced acid structure. Concludes with a long, dynamic yet supple aftertaste.
