Smoky aromas of acacia, mineral reduction and citrus rind give way to detailed, intense and saline-infused medium weight flavors that are at once more complex but also more austere on the balanced and lightly stony finale. This promising effort will need a few years to better harmonize and flesh out. Drink 2026+.

The 2019 Meursault Les Vireuils has a lively bouquet of grilled walnuts, smoke and gunflint aromas that soar from the glass. The palate is well balanced with quite a rich and honeyed entry. Weighty and assertive in the mouth, it delivers a tangy marmalade finish. Maybe a little "obvious" compared to some crus, but certainly well crafted and full of flavor. Drink 2023 - 2036.

Racked and returned mostly to the same barrels. Light fresh colour, with a racy hillside nose, backed by the sunshine too. A little touch of biscuit from the barrel, a leaner finish than the regular Meursault.
