2019 Babo Chianti DOCG
The winemaking here took two paths. The first was whole-bunch fermentation with roughly 50% carbonic maceration, raised in concrete vats for six months. A second ferment was de-stemmed and matured in concrete for eight months.
Deep dark red black tinged colour with a dark red hue. Fragrant red currant aromas infused with a mix of violets and fresh herbs are trailed by some earthy tobacco and spice notes. Mid weighted with a supple entry, the palate features spicy red currant and cherry fruits over infusions of fresh herbs and earthy tobacco characters. Slightly dryish but otherwise polished tannins with bright acidity and a medium length finish.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
