2019 Atze’s Corner Eddies Old Vine Shiraz

Named in honour of the two Barossans who planted a vineyard in 1912, the Eddies Old Vine Shiraz is a blend of this century plus vineyard along with fruit from a 59 year old vineyard and a block planted in 1975. Maturation took place in new and seasoned French and American oak hogsheads of which 25% were new for a period of 22 months.
Impenetrable inky black in colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Wafting out of the glass are heady aromatics of ripe blackberry, liquorice, black cherry and black plum which are intermeshed with toasty vanillin oak, earthy mocha and spice notes. Decadently rich, full bodied and powerful, the palate is saturated with lavish blackberry, liquorice, black plum and black cherry fruits. Elements of toasty vanillin oak, earth, mocha and spice form the base. Super plush and opulent in its feel with a velvety yet structurally robust framework of tannins. Outstanding depth finishing very long and voluptuous.
