Magnificent colour saturation displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Heady blackberry, liquorice and black cherry aromas sail through the olfactory senses followed by some toasty oak and peppered meat notes. Thick and lush the palate is drenched with rich black cherry, liquorice and blackberry fruits which overlay a toasty oak and blackpepper back drop. Firmly built tannins shape the mouthfeel with some grip. Heavy, heat shaded finish.
Cellar 3-4 years.
Alc. 15.5%

Other Reviews….
Fermented wild, albeit, after machine harvesting. An approach I find irreconcilable, at least theoretically. What would I know? The end product is delicious. Opaque, but lighter on its feet than the Bendigo colour infers. Saturated, mouthfilling dark fruit persuasions; the tannins taut, coffee-grind and juicy, juggling the hedonic explosion of excess. With aplomb. American oak working well here. Drink by 2030.
