Semi translucent dark red colour with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Nosing offers up hints of violets which sit alongside red to dark cherry fruits, subtle dried herbs, forest floor, a subtle meatiness and spicy cedar. Stepping the intensity the palate possesses an expansive flavour profile of dark cherries, ripe strawberries and anise which melds into toasty cedar, dried herbs, forest floor and spice characters. Very supple with an outstanding power wave and good freshness on the finish, polished tannins leading into a long savoury aftertaste blessed with an abundance of red to dark fruits.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
Maryann Egan, who I’ve met a few times now, is one of the better people in the world of wine. Not to say that makes a difference to what’s in the bottle, though at whiles I like to dream that good character could perhaps be osmotic…
Cherry cola, creamy spicy oak, dried mint. Medium bodied, lovely fine silty tannin provides traction, even acidity, poached spiced strawberries, shines on the finish with a pretty perfume and dried herb, and carries long. It’s a light wine of substance, if that makes sense. Easy to like. Drink 2019-2027.
