2018 Voyager Estate Girt by Sea Chardonnay

Brilliant pale straw colour with a distinctive tinge of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Lifted white peach, nectarine and dried honey aromas combine followed by some biscuity oak, citrusy nougat and light gun flint notes. Fleshy peach, ripe nectarine and dried honey flavours add a gentle creaminess to the texture with subtle cashew, nougat and spice characters ensuing. Finishes dry and fresh with a long refined aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

The words ‘girt by sea' come from the Australian national anthem, which creates very different reactions. The wine is a blend of six blocks, monthly wild fermentation doing the heavy lifting. It is a wine to please far many more tasters than those who are disappointed by it. Drink by 2023.
