2018 Villa Wolf Gewurztraminer

Villa Wolf is the Pfalz estate of Mosel Riesling legend Ernst Loosen. The Pfalz region is in the Rhine river valley in southwest Germany, directly north of France’s Alsace region. The low-lying Haardt mountains protect the area from cold, wet Atlantic weather, making it one of the warmer and drier areas of Germany.

Brilliant very pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Exotic scents of rose water, lychee, Turkish delight and musk sail out of the glass followed by light citrusy pear and spice notes. Juicy and fresh, luscious lychee, musk and Turkish delight flavours flood the mouth with subtle pear and spice characters sitting underneath. Excellent intensity with a refreshing off dry finish and long moreish aftertaste.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
