Cellar: Drink now - 8 Years (2021-2029)

Matured in a single 2700 litre French oak cask for 15 months. Totally opaque black dark purple colour with a bright dark purple hue. Aromas of red plum and red liquorice have a smoked dried meat like overlay with earthy black olive, graphite and pepper notes ensuing. Juicy mid weighted flavours of red plum, cherries and red liquorice are underpinned by bright youthful acidity. Elements of spicy vanillin cedar, meaty characters, earthy graphite and pepper flow onto the back half. Dryish finish with slightly dusty tannins and a long richly fruited yet inky aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 13.7%

Other Reviews….
Mother’s really hitting its straps in 2018.

Sweet Hunter earth, perfume, boysenberry, cherry, bit of cracked pepper, mint. Medium-bodied, purple fruit, forest berries, creamy mid-palate and tannin, mouth-perfume, clean minerally acid, very good length. A lush feel, and exceptionally high drinking appeal. Tempted to rate it a little higher. Drink by 2034.

Gary Walsh - The Wine Front (May 2019)

So fresh and fruity with a lovely, lifted sense to the wine on the palate with crushed-cherry and strawberry character, as well as creamy and round tannins. Medium body. Flavorful finish. Purity. This is the first release of this single-vineyard wine.
