Open-fermented, destemmed, some whole bunch, pumpovers, 16 days on skins, matured for 17 months in French oak (14% new). The bouquet is fragrant, the wine no more than medium-bodied, and well balanced courtesy of fresh red and dark fruits. It's not often that tannins decide the all-up quality of a Barossa Valley shiraz, but they do in this instance. Drink by 2038.
