2018 Torbreck The Gask Shiraz

Matured for 18 months in second fill French oak barriques. Magnificent colour featuring a dense inky black core and an equally deep bright dark red black hue. Wafting from the glass are potent aromatics of dark plum, liquorice and ripe blueberry with ensuing lightly toasted vanillin oak, fennel and spicy pepper notes. Rich, powerful and silky the palate is a seamless fusion of dark plum, liquorice, blackberry and blueberry fruits which meld into elements of dried herbs and subtle smoky vanillin cedar, a light meatiness, fennel and pepper. Despite its lavish nature it still manages to show plenty of finesse. Very plush with velvet smooth tannins possessing great underlying structure. Outstanding depth with a very long aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
