2018 Tim Adams Cabernet Malbec

Medium bodied with rich black fruits framed by assertive tannins that lead into a dry, grippy finish.

Dense pitch black heart with a deep very dark red black tinged hue. Expressive blackcurrant and liquorice aromas infused with mint are trailed by some vanillin cedar and subtle earthy mocha notes. On the medium bodied palate, rich blackcurrant and liquorice fruits are framed by a firm assertive tannin structure. Mint, toasty vanillin cedar and spice elements lie in the background. Dry, grippy medium length finish.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.

This delivers a bigger-boned red in a well-balanced way. Lots to get stuck into. The perfume is scented like black cherry, chocolate truffles, hazelnut, mint and stewed plum. Flavours lean into forest berries, plum, mocha and some faint malty characters, with firm, dusty tannins lending chew. All up, a pleasing, bold red of a winter-warmer ilk. Drink by 2035.
