2018 Thorn-Clarke Shotfire GSM

A blend of 51% Grenache, 39% Shiraz and 10% Mourvedre matured for 18 months in 10% new and 90% ten year old French hogsheads. Pitch black in colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Aromas of dark raspberries, ripe black cherries and liquorice mix with vanillin oak and hints of scorched earth. Rich luscious black raspberry, black cherry and liquorice fruits swamp the palate with elements of scorched earth and spicy vanillin cedar lying underneath. Excellent intensity with a plush mouthfeel and velvety tannins leading into a lengthy finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
