Dense inky black colour with a deep dark purple hue. Aromas of dark plum, ripe blueberry and liquorice mix with hints of vanillin oak, fresh herbs and light pepper. Rich, fleshy dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruits swamp the medium to full bodied palate with notions of spicy vanillin cedar, earth, light dried herbs and pepper lying underneath. Polished yet slightly chewy tannin structure with a long juicy aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews….
Hand-picked in small batches from the best sections of the vineyard, fermented separately, building a wine with 15% whole bunch, 85% whole berry. Open-fermented, with an average of 9 days on skins, matured for 18 months in French oak (25% new). It's medium-bodied, but offers a multiplicity of flavours, texture and structure; the fruit ripened a point, filling the mouth and very long palate. Drink by 2043.
