2018 Schwarz Wine Co. GSM

A blend of 59% Grenache, 31% Shiraz and 10% Mataro that included 30% whole bunch fruit in the ferment. Seventy percent of the wine was matured in old French oak puncheons and hogsheads for 14 months with the balance in tank. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a bright dark red hue. Fragrant scents of dark raspberry, ripe cherry and liquorice have a distinct dried clove overlay with earthy incense like notes and spice also evident. Medium bodied and quite refined in its feel the palate possesses savoury dark raspberry and cherry fruits over red liquorice, earthy incense characters, subtle dried herbs and spice. Polished mouthfeel and tannins with a medium length finish.
