Approximately one third of the blend was aged in older oak casks for 6 months before blending with the unoaked portion.
Excellent depth of colour displaying an impenetrable black as night core with a bright dark red black hue. Aromas of freshly crushed blackberries, liquorice and a whiff of blueberries are trailed by vanillin confectionary and spice. Good weight and richness with inky blackberry, liquorice and blueberry flavours running into some vanillin confectionary and earth. Spicy finish with bright acidity, slightly grainy tannins and a juicy medium length aftertaste. A well made fruit driven style of Heathcote Shiraz.
