2018 Rogues Lane Reserve Heathcote Shiraz

Sourced from vines planted in 1995, the fruit underwent partial whole bunch fermentation with maturation taking place in a mixture of new and old French oak for 20 months. Inky black in colour with a deep dark red black hue. Lifted liquorice, blackberry and black cherry aromas meld into smoky vanillin cedar, fennel, light scorched earth and black pepper notes. Rich and concentrated the palate is blessed with a deep well of blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruit which is complexed by dried herb, smoky vanillin cedar, light fennel and earthy blackpepper nuances. Excellent torque and depth. Opulent mouthfeel with sturdily built yet velvet like tannins leading into a long polished finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
