2018 Powell & Son Barossa & Eden Valleys Shiraz

A 50/50 blend of 40 plus year old Eden Valley vines and 60 year old Barossa Valley vines matured for 15 months in 4500 litre oak foudres. Midnight black in colour with a bright dark black tinged hue. The nose presents a vibrant array of dark plum, liquorice and ripe blueberry scents which meld into vanillin cedar, light earthy fennel notes and pepper. Rich and lush yet also remarkably fresh the refined palate sees plum, liquorice and blueberry fruits sail over a back drop of vanillin cedar, earthy graphite and pepper characters. A fine grained tannin structure lending a muscular feel. Finishes long with a degree of finesse.
