2018 Poonawatta The Cuttings Shiraz

Impenetrable pitch black in colour with a very deep black dark red hue. Wafting from the glass are intense aromas of black cherry, liquorice and blackberry infused with blackpepper followed by vanillin oak, scorched earth and subtle dried meat notes. Rich and sumptuous, the large scaled palate is layered with succulent blackberry, liquorice and black cherry fruits. Vanillin cedar, scorched earth and peppered dried meat characters lurk beneath the opulent, powerful fruit. Silky yet slightly sinewy tannins with a long decadently plush conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
