Matured for 18 months in a combination of 1 to 5 year old French oak barrels. Black as night at its heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced mulberry top notes are intermeshed with red to black currant fruits, cedary tobacco scents, earth and spicy dried herbs. Medium bodied, ripe mulberry and blackcurrant fruits are backed by a firm, slightly chewy tannin structure. Also present are vanillin cedar, earthy tobacco and dried herb nuances. Dryish finish with a sturdy medium length aftertaste.
